This sums it up exactly:

"...a lot of fear, a lot of sheer incredulity over the intensity and variety of what can befall me over such a short time."

I do a lot of looking back at the last two years in deep disbelief: Did all this really happen to me?

I wish when it was all going down I'd known some of the things you know. I'm so glad you can apply it now, when it helps, when you need it.

Jo

Oh, Jilbur. All I can say is: I know what you mean.

Sigh. And hugs.

I am constantly amazed, constantly challenged and constantly delighted by the things that life throws in my way. I often react badly, just as often wrongly and occasionall correctly. However, as I have grown older, my need to be in control of everything that could influence my life has diminished. Now I smile a lot and enjoy my friends... and I have wonderful friends.

Leaving life better than we found it is a tall order, but if the improvement comes from touching the hearts of strangers you have won already.

Chris

I'm with Zeno...before I opened the comments I was thinking along similar lines. It sounds cliche but if you can improve just one person's day, then perhaps the day has been worthwhile. Consider yourself successful then. Ok...now...time for the group hug!

Mindy

OK, but I am still not going ot cyber with you.

alice

I am so going to cyber with you. But I'm slutty like that.

Lee

I have nothing to add to the others who have so eloquently stated that, "you have touched our lives and our hearts in a very positive manner". Ok, so I'm paraphrasing.

So, instead I'll point out that I think you're really slacking in your posts. This is two in a row where I knew ALL the words (ok I am debating on looking up bellwether, but I have an idea of what it means). Slacker.

Mir

OK, I was really digging the dharma lesson, but now that I've read Lee's comment all I can think of is that "My kharma ran over your dogma" bumper sticker....

I see you bravely walking the path you need to take. And I think you're starting to see it, too. And that, my friend, is quite something.

Jilbur,
You amaze me.
